Andy Wirth, born in 1963 is a philanthropist who works at the Mountain resort and hotel industry. Currently, Andy is the president and the chief executive officer at Squaw Valley Ski Holdings. Andy has worked tirelessly to see the Ski area as one of the top most tourist destination across the world. Andy gained over 25 years of experience in hotel industry.

Andy attended Colorado State University and also furthered his education at Edinburgh University in Scotland. He started pursuing his passion while still schooling and gained some experience as a backcountry ranger at Rocky Mountain National Park. Andy also played a role of wilderness ranger at San Pedro Parks Wilderness Area. Andy might have inherited ranger’s blood as his grandfather was also a former U S National Park Service Director.

Andy focuses on improving and contributing to environmental and community service organization around the Lake Tahoe area. He puts his efforts into developing the area to be suitable for people of all ages.

After college, Andy began his career at Steamboat Ski and Resort Corporation as an intern in 1986. He served for over 20 years; his title changed various times in the sales and marketing department. But later he was promoted to the parent Company Intrawest.

In 2006 Andy was promoted to Chief Marketing Officer and also the executive vice president of sales and marketing. He also managed domestic and global marketing strategy of all resorts operated by the company. He handled various position including being the president of the Mountain Village Partnership that primarily helped support local business. Andy served the company until 2010.

Andy joined Squaw Valley and took over as the president. Andy started by managing over $ 70 million that was meant for upgrading the resort. The project helped raise the resort to another level where it’s among the top competitive resort in the skiing areas. Within just one year at Squaw Valley Andy rebuilt the reputation of the resort in the skiing valley.

Recently Andy was announced as the elected Chairman and the President at Reno-Tahoe Regional Air Service Corporation. Andy says that he is very humbled and honored to serve his role. Andy further says he believes in the landscape and the future of the region.
