Yanni Hufnagel manifested his love for coaching early in his life. He read coaching books when growing up in Scarsdale, New York. He followed the books to practice on his own on how to be a good coach. He landed a commentating position at a local television, which elevated his passion for sports. This job evidenced his capabilities of growing into a coach or a sports commentator.
Yanni Hufnagel served as a basketball manager at Cornell University in his first year. He then moved to New Jersey Nets as an intern after his graduation. He was later referred to Jeff Capel by a colleague. Jeff, who was his former boss in Oklahoma, hired him as an assistant coach. He later got a position at Harvard, following a recommendation by Jeff Capel in 2009. He was engaged as an assistant coach on a volunteer basis. He is talented and brave when it comes to recruiting new basketball players. He has used the platform to bring in very promising players to the game. Yanni Hufnagel has been very fortunate to coach on platforms that have all the necessary basketball resources. His talents as a coach have been elevated to the top.

Yanni Hufnagel played basketball while at Scarsdale High School. He continued playing when he joined the Pennsylvania State University but left after a year. He went on to Cornell University where he graduated in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial and Labor Relations. He joined the University of Oklahoma where he attained a Master’s degree in Adult and Higher Education in 2010. He majored in Intercollegiate Athletics Administration.
Yanni Hufnagel coaching abilities have created some top basketball players. He is well known in growing the talent of Jeremy Lin and Wesley Saunders who he coached at Harvard. He currently coaches Nevada Wolfe Pack alongside Erick Musselman.
